2017 Wisconsin Fishing Expo sees 12.5-percent attendance spike

 

Slinger, WI –  The Wisconsin Fishing Expo (WFE), already the largest fishing expo in Wisconsin, and arguably the Midwest, drawing  over 20,000 attendees per year, saw a 12.5-percent increase in paid-attendance for 2017.  Held at the at the Alliant Energy Center Convention Hall in Madison, WI, with over 110,000 square feet of exhibit space, the 2017 WFE boasted a combination of new attractions, focused advertising, and mostly-favorable weather which helped to contribute to the WFE’s continued success. SD Angler Catches the new Wisconsin State Record Whitefish in Lake Michigan

One of Lake Michigan’s tastiest and lesser known fish is finally getting a little attention in the badger state, where South Dakota fishermen Ray Stromsness boated the new state-record Whitefish. Stromsness was fishing in Lake Michigan aboard Dumper Dan Sportfishing Charters when he caught and landed a 12 pound 4 ounce lake Whitefish by dropping a spoon 30-feet down in the Lake Michigan waters on July 9. Stromsness beat the old record handily, which has been held since 1977 at 11 pounds, 11 ounces.  Continue Reading
